Dr. Paul Dhinakaran's mother, Dr. Stella Dhinakaran, is being used by God today in different facets of ministry and many are touched by her prayers. Near to her heart is the Esther Prayer Group ministry in which women gather to pray for women around the world in order to see their lives touched and changed by God's power.
Stella Dhinakaran has been chosen by God and given a divine assignment to comfort and pray for the brokenhearted people. Especially women and thousands of families are built through her prayers and words of encouragement from the scriptures. Her messages bring transformation in their lives. Many have witnessed mighty miracles and deliverance from sickness when she prays. Those who are bound by addictions turn to God and are set free under Sister Stella’s ministry.
In the early days of their ministry, Sister Stella supported her husband (Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran) by caring for and serving the pastors and people who came to meet him. She was faithful in this God-given responsibility.
God filled her with the Holy Spirit and transformed this timid individual to a bold woman of prayer like Esther and Deborah. She became a comforter of women and built thousands of families through her prayers and words of encouragement from the scriptures. As the ministry grew, she supported Dr. Dhinakaran by replying by letter to hundreds of people who wrote to him and through her fervent prayers.
In 1988, the Lord gave her a special burden to pray for the nation of India and for families. In obedience to this call, she started The Esther Prayer Group in which women gather together to stand in the gap and intercede for the nation and bring transformation in the lives of family members.
In response to this call, women with a passion to pray have now formed a growing number of Esther Prayer Groups. Prayer points are prepared by Sister Stella Dhinakaran herself and are circulated to all the EPG leaders all over the world.
Sister Stella is the author of many best-selling books that God has used to change the lives of many people and brought healing in body, soul, and spirit.
In her book A Priceless Pearl, Sister Stella Dhinakaran speaks of
how women can build their homes, strengthen their families, and lead a happier
life. For, as she puts it, “It is the will of the Lord that every woman can
become A Priceless Pearl in the
Kingdom of God and shower blessings upon all.
This book is definitely an eye-opener and a source of happiness to all women.
PRESSING TOWARDS THE GOAL!
A MESSAGE BY SISTER STELLA DHINAKARAN
Even after reaching senior citizen status and many years of sacrificial
ministry and praying for millions, she is not contented and not willing to
rest. She still seeks the Lord early in the morning, continues her personal
fasting and prayer on Tuesdays, replies to people who write to her, conducts
Esther Prayer Groups, travels around the world to bring healing and comfort to
the people, and eagerly accepts the invitations to minister in different parts
of India and around the world. Sister Stella is willing to do anything the Lord
asks her to do.
As children
of God, we have to pray for the needs of other people. When we pray for others,
God will bless us.
The Bible instructs, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of
Christ” (Galatians 6:2).
In 1988, God gave me a burden to pray for women to kindle the fire of revival
in their lives and to enable them to rise and shine. Accordingly, He helped me
to launch the Esther Prayer Group. I started the Prayer Group along with a
small group of women at the Jesus Calls office in Chennai. Once, a sister
shared with me the difficult circumstances of her family. I told her; “Please
join this Esther Prayer Group, and start praying for others. Then, God will
take charge of your family.”
Eight women including that sister, came
to the Jesus Calls’ office and joined the Prayer Group. God ordered a new re-awakening in the lives of
these women.
A few years later, God said to me, “It is not enough if you alone, as a group,
pray for women. This Prayer Group should extend its activity throughout the
world.” So when an announcement with
regard to this was made in the Jesus Calls’ magazine, many sisters from all over
the world enthusiastically came forward to pray together. Today, hundreds of Esther Prayer Groups have been formed!
These groups assemble every second Saturday of the month from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
at their respective locations and intercede for the problems of women, focusing
on the prayer points I send them. Through the prayers offered in these Prayer
Groups, hundreds of women have seen the light and have risen as a shining light
to the whole world. Today, broken homes are being restored. God is doing many
wonderful things!
The prophet Samuel said that he would be sinning against the Lord, if he did not pray for the people. “As for me, far be
it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you” (1
Samuel 12:23).
In order to save her whole race from disaster, Queen Esther fasted with her people for three days, night and day, and offered her supplication to God (Esther 4:16). God heard her prayer and saved the people from disaster. Stressing the importance of interceding for others, the Apostle Paul wrote, “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy” (Philippians 1:3, 4).
The Lord Jesus Christ also makes intercession for us (Romans
8:34() for He is our model!
Following the example of Samuel, Esther, the Apostle Paul and our Lord Jesus
Christ, let us resolve from today forward, to pray for others including the
servants of God, and put it into action. In 1 Timothy 2:1-2, the Apostle Paul
instructs Timothy, his younger colleague “I urge, then, first of all, that
requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- for
kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in
all godliness and holiness.”
The Bible also exhorts us: “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all
kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on
praying for all the saints,” (Ephesians 6:18).
Dearly beloved, according to the scripture verse we ought to “pray for each
other,” (James 5:16). So let us pray for others with the Spirit and
perseverance. The Lord will definitely listen to the cries of our hearts.
PRAYER
Loving Lord Jesus,
When You lived on this earth, You were a man of prayer. Even now, You intercede on my behalf to the Father. You prayed for those who crucified You. Help me to follow Your footsteps. Give me a heart to intercede for others. Help me to pray for those who govern my nation and the world. Give me the grace to pray for those who hate me and bless those who curse me. Enable me to pray for those who spitefully use me. Manifest Your love to others through my life. Make me a blessing to others, in Your matchless Name I pray, Amen.
